It won’t be long before the countdown to Christmas begins and there’s no better way for children than the fun of an advent calendar. Personally I think the days of opening a cardboard door to find a festive image on the backing paper are long gone, but I’m not keen on pumping sweets and chocolate into my children’s mouths each morning before school. I’ve tried the wooden advent calendar with little boxes to place a tiny gift in each day, but it is a nightmare finding sufficient small gifts (and expensive too) for the whole advent period. I think it will be a Lego® advent calendar this year. It will be exciting for them to see what surprise they have each morning, and they have something to play with and keep. Much more satisfying.
